Polybatcher

Model 250

A unique new patented means of resuscitating hot asphalt that has gone cold, or recycling old asphalt. The polybatcher can also produce asphalt & special products from virgin materials.

A sealed drum is externally heated by propane gas heaters. An automatic temperature control system ensures that the materials are not over heated.

The rotating drum is hydraulically tilted back and fore to aid mixing and discharge.

The PROTEUS POLYBATCHER Model 250 is a self-powered trailer mounted miniature asphalt plant. But it is more - it has the unique ability to resuscitate premixed hot materials that have gone cold - and keep the binder within specification. It is ideal for small works needing coloured asphalt, thin surfacing materials, and conventional asphalt and bituminous macadam's. Batch 250 kg. (Model 1000 with a batch size of 1000 kg is also available.)

POLYMER MODIFIED BITUMEN NO PROBLEM!

UK Patent Application No: 9609766.2 USA Patent 5947720.

PROTEUS has been granted a British and USA Patent for the POLYBATCHER.

Its unique feature is its ability to resuscitate hot asphalt that has gone cold - and to do so whilst keeping the binder within specification. It achieves this by indirectly heating the material in a slowly rotating sealed drum. This POLYBATCHER to carry out highway repair work for Hereford County Council. It is resuscitating pre-mixed bituminous sand carpet for their hand-lay gangs. The temperature of the heating cycle is automatically controlled so that the asphalt is not overheated.
The POLYBATCHER is expected to find its role particularly in facilitating small works with thin surfacing and coloured asphalt. The contractor can take pre-mixed material from store, take it to site, and "heat and serve" right on the job. It is then spread and compacted whilst fresh and hot.
Sub-standard make up around street furniture and reinstatement of openings should be a thing of the past when the POLYBATCHER system is used. Even the remote highlands of Wales and Scotland will pose no further problems for the highways repair gangs.
